 Dr.Soma Ghosh, foster daughter of Ustad Bismillah Khan and a veteran classical vocalist, strives to preserve the cultural heritage of our country through her Madhu Murchhana movement. Parampara Kal Aur Aaj is a movement where Madhu Murchhana heritage band fuses the ancient with the modern, bringing to life endangered musical instruments in their fullest glory. The tar shenai, esraj, sarangi and ravan hatta will vie with pakhawaj, folk music, jugalbandi, siddh veena, sitar, tabla, harmonium, sarod, and will also take do a modern of take on traditional music, retaining our culture through it. Madhu Murchhana Heritage Band performed at Ravindra Natya Mandir with Nazish Khan, Aquid Khan (Tabla), Shankar Nandi (Khol, Dhol), Krishna Mohan( Damroo, Jhanj et cetra), Debashish Haldar (Tar Shehnai, Esraaj, Sarangi), Iqbal Warsi (Ravan Hatya), Mrinal Upadhyay (Pakhawaj). Folk songs by sufi singer Mudasir Ali and Shoma Banerjee and back up vocals by Tulsi and Suboor Khan. Dance choreography by Vichitra Mukherjee. Concept: Dr. Soma Ghosh. Jugalbandi:   Jyoti Hegde (Rudraveena) and Siddharth Banerjee (Siddha Veena).Accompanied by Mrinal Upadhyay on Pakhawaj and Prashant on Tabla.

Aditya Thackeray and Abhishek Bachchan help Dino Morea make Mumbai fitter

Actor Dino Morea who turned producer last year with Jism 2, has gifted Mumbai the fitness mantra with his productDM Fitness.

And this time Mumbai City’s dynamic politician Aditya Thackeray is helping the Bandra boy help the city get healthier through DM Fitness.

Not long ago Dino's friend and co star from a  few films, Bipasha Basu launched the first set of machines to help Mumbai control it's waistline and regulate the heartbeat.
DM Fitness is a series of fixed machines which can be used by the people of Mumbai free of cost. "We give the people an opportunity to exercise. It’s a functional training. It is set up on a 100 square feet area across the city," says Morea.

"I am very excited about it. I want to give something back to my city. This is a great way to keep fit and this set up which will give an opportunity to the people of Mumbai,." says the actor.
Dino’s close friend from the film industry Abhishek Bachchan will also accompany ADitya and Dino launch the second fitness station at Worli Sea Face.

Morea plans around a 100 such equipment across the city and he says that this is the way he can pay back the city. Fit as a fiddle today, Morea is talking to various social groups and individuals across the city to get similar equipment fitted across the metropolis to make Mumbai fitter, better and more health conscious.

Nasseruddin Shah inspiring film COFFIN MAKER set in Goa, to premiere at River to River Florence Film Festival!

 
The Coffin Maker, is all set for an Italian premiere at the 13th River to River Florence  Festival. The film will be screened first at the Florence Fest that takes off on November 22, 2013 and in a new highlight will also visit Rome between November 29 and December 1, 2013. Directed by debutante Veena Bakshi, it will be competing in the feature film section for the River to River Bitebay Audience Award.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was the special guest from Bollywood last year, who went to the River to River film festival in Italy to celebrate 100 years of Cinema, and this year another doyen of Indian cinema, Nasseruddin's film COFFIN MAKER will premiere at the festival.

COFFIN MAKER is a life changing film. It represents cinema that inspires! Set against the authentic and seductive spirit of a Goan Village, CoffinMaker is a poignant tale about a reluctant Coffin Maker who learns about life from a very unusual and mysterious source.

७० देशों की करीब 216 फ़िल्में गोवा फिल्म समारोह में

 

हर साल की तरह इस साल भी नवम्बर में  ४४ वां अंतरराष्ट्रीय फिल्म समारोह होगा। जिसमें अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ख्याति प्राप्त हॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री सुसान सारानडॉन और  ईरानी फिल्मकार माजिद माजिदी के भी उपस्थित होने की खबर है.  पिछले दिनों यह खबर पणजी में  केंद्रीय सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्री मनीष तिवारी ने दी। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि इस समारोह में लोकप्रिय अभिनेत्री रेखा और प्रसिद्ध गायिका आशा भोंसले भी उपस्थित होंगी। 

२० से ३० नवंबर तक गोवा में होने वाले फिल्म समारोह की शुरुआत होगी  जिरी मेंजेल द्वारा निर्देशित चेक कॉमेडी फिल्म 'डॉन जुअन्स' से. निर्देशक जिरी मेंजेल को इस फिल्म महोत्सव में लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट सम्मान से सम्मानित किया जा रहा है . 

अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित उनकी यह  फिल्म सर्वश्रेष्ठ विदेशी भाषा की फिल्म है.

६५०  के आस पास विदेशी फिल्मों की  प्रविष्टियां आयी हैं , जिनमें से करीब २१६  फ़िल्में इस फिल्म समारोह में दिखाई जायेगीं और लगभग इस साल करीब ७०  देश  इसमें हिस्सा ले रहे हैं.

भारतीय सिनेमा में बंगाल के प्रसिद्ध फिल्म निर्माता निर्देशक बुद्धदेब दासगुप्ता की फ़िल्में उत्तरा , बाघ बहादुर , चराचर और काल पुरुष आदि फ़िल्में दिखाई जायेगीं। निर्देशक बुद्धदेब दासगुप्ता भी इस समारोह में आयेगें। इनके अलावा अपर्णा सेन, शबाना आजमी, नंदिता दास, गुरिंदर चड्डा, किरण खेर, मीरा नायर और हेलेन आदि भी उपस्थित होंगी। रेखा भी गोवा फ़िल्म समारोह की शान बढ़ाएंगी, इस  बार कुछ क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी भी समारोह आ सकते है 

१० दिन चलने वाले इस समारोह में देश विदेश के हज़ारों प्रतिनिधि भाग लेते है.
