It’s not often that an actor contributes to the creative process of making a film -However Riteish Deshmukh, with his background in architecture, did just that as he helped design the layout of a set for his forthcoming film Balaji’s Kya Super Kool Hai Hum also starring Tusshar Kapoor.
The architect- turned- actor assisted the art director by giving creative inputs on sprucing up the set of a bachelor pad for the film.Confirms a production source “The scene was based in a bachelor's house in Mumbai. Riteish contributed to the placement of the wall structure and arrangement of furniture. Everyone welcomed his ideas, including the director Sachin Yardi, art director Madhur Sarkar and co-star Tusshar Kapoor”
Says Riteish “We were shooting the scene in a particular way and things weren't working out.Once we changed the setting of the sofa and a few other items, there was more space for the camera and crew members to move around without bumping into each other or the furniture”.Adding “The idea was to have many posters, lots of color, clutter in certain areas yet having a neat feel to it”.
The actor however is all praise for art director Madhur Sarkar “Madhur is an extraordinary talent. In fact, she inspires me to look at things differently. And it has been a while since I have been inspired by an art director,” says the actor.
After the runaway success of Balaji Motion Pictures ‘ 2005 hit comedy Kya Kool Hai Hum, the team of the film reunites for the rib-tickling sequel, titled Kya Super Kool Hai Hum which is scheduled to release this August.
