Recently, Roy Kapur Films (RKF) announced a landmark multi-year deal with leading telecom firm Reliance Jio Infocomm to develop, produce, commission and curate original digital content for the Jio platform. Now taking the association forward, RKF has opened its doors to writers, directors and producers with ideas for high impact content across multiple genres to be launched under the ‘Jio Originals’ brand, and available to over 140 million subscribers. Sheeba Akashdeep to rewind to the 90s in Haasil

Sheeba Akashdeep (Sarika Raichand) who recently made a comeback on Indian television with the show ‘Haasil’ will be seen rewinding to the 90s in the upcoming flashback sequence in the show. The actress who took inspiration from none other than Nita Ambani for the role of Sarika Raichand in the show didn’t have to look further for inspiration than her own movies for this sequence! 

Says Sheeba, “90s is undoubtedly a golden era and I have some of the best memories of those days. Shooting for the flashback sequence brought back several fond memories for me from that era – the makeup, the cult fashion sense, and most importantly reliving the days of my movie shoots. I was quite excited when I told that the story will go in the flashback into Sarika’s life in the 90s and some scenes will be shot moving away from my current industrialist avatar to a more simplistic look. I had loads of fun shooting and the scenes have come out well. I, in fact, shared some of my pictures in polka dot dress with some of my friends who completely loved the look and we all got into talking about our good old days then.” 

In the upcoming episode of Haasil, the story will move into a flashback focusing on Sarika’s past before she went on to become the influential Sarika Raichand, the classy business-woman and mother of Ranvir (Zayed Khan) and Kabir Raichand (Vatsal Sheth).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Mohsin and Shivangi shoot in cold wate

Rajan Shahi’s show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the longest running shows on the television. Its success has a lot to do with its hardworking cast, who leave no stone unturned to make the show a grand success. One such example is actors Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi’s recent shoot.

The two were expected shoot in cold water for three days. And even though the production tried to cancel the shoot, they insisted on continuing “It was commendable that both Shivangi and Moshin did three sequences in three days which required them to be in extremely cold water and weather.

We decided to change the sequence for their comfort but once they got to know they insisted that we do not creatively compromise and did all the three sequences. Seeing their enthusiasm and commitment, they received a huge applause from the entire team,” says Shahi.

The show has a wonderful set of actors who will ;et go of personal comfort to make sure the show does well. Acts like these inspire others from the team to work hard too, says Shahi. “When actors work with so much enthusiasm and commitment, it inspires the entire teams to give their best too,” he adds.

Eros International’s Trinity Pictures announces its next franchise film Haathi Mere Saathi

Eros International Media Ltd (Eros International), a leading global film company in the Indian film entertainment industry, has announced Trinity Pictures, its franchise feature studio will roll with its next film, Haathi Mere Saathi in January 2018.

The trilingual film will be shot in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil and will star Rana Daggubati in the lead and will be helmed by acclaimed director Prabhu Solomon (of Kumki and Mynaa fame). The movie, a brand-new story inspired by true events will be a tribute to the classic super hit animal film—Haathi Mere Saathi. Actor Abhishek Bajaj makes a dashing bike entry during his sangeet ceremony

Abhishek Bajaj’s haldi, mehandi and sangeet ceremony was a gala event with the actor’s friends from Mumbai making it for his big day. The day started with Haldi and Mehandi ceremonies with the actor’s bestie Himani Sharma from Dil Se Dil Tak fame making the most of the haldi. The groom was seen jumping around in joy as his to be wife, Akanksha Jindal’s Mehandi ceremony started. 

By late evening, the sangeet ceremony started as Abhishek made a dashing bike entry in bollywood style who was later joined by Akanksha at the  pavilion seat using a lot of color bombs to kick start the event. Actor Sumeet Samnani of Sultan movie fame danced on Adnan Sami’s ‘Lift Kara De’.

Television industry’s biggest stars descended on the red carpet for premier of Sab TV’s new comedy show Partners- Trouble Ho Gayi Trouble.

It was an evening filled with glitz and glamour at the premiere of SAB Tv’s new show Partners - Trouble Ho Gayi Double. Some of the biggest names in television made their presence felt at the event.

1 Rupee Note of 1944, the 1st issue of British India, which was signed by C E Jones, a pack of 100 was  sold for INR 1,30,000 on 24th at Todywalla Auctions in October 2009

Till 1970 This Indian one rupee note was also used as a currency in Persian & Gulf countries like : Dubai, Bahrain, Muscat, Oman etc. These notes used at that time have a current value of Rs 20,000 to 30,000 per note in the collectors market.  

The Portuguese and French were so fascinated by the Indian one rupee note, that they issued their own one rupee note.  The Portuguese Nova Goa notes were issued in 1917. In the year of 1924 and 1929, they were issued again with major changes. The French issued one ‘Roupie’ in 1919.

In 1945 , the “ 1 Rupee Notes” were circulated in Burma with a red overprint for the Armed forces, while in 1947, it was issued for Burmese Civilian and Nationals

The 1 Rupee note was so fascinating that even the Princely states of India issued One rupee notes of their own. For eg : Osmania, Hyderabad issued a one rupee note in 1919 and later in 1943 and 1946.  In 1877 ‘Shirkar’ One rupee notes were issued in Kashmir.

In 1948, Government of India issued another one rupee note signed by Finance Secretary K.R.K. Menon with black overprint and it was circulated in Pakistan, these notes were however demonetized in 1949 post the partition

Though all other denomination of Notes of the Republic India has the signature of the Reserve Bank of India Governor. The one rupee note is the only note that bears the signature of Finance Secretary of India since its issuance from the Republic India

1 Rupee Note is the only denomination note  with the text “ Government Of India” printed on it , all other currencies have 'Bharatiya Reserve Bank' and 'Reserve Bank of India' printed on them.

To celebrate the Birth Centenary of Mahatma Gandhi, the issue of 1969 portrayed a commemorative coin on the 1 Rupee note. Significant changes were introduced in 1981 included design of oil Rig ‘SagarSamrat’ and the signature was printed in ‘Devanagari’. The design of one rupee note remained unchanged  till 1994. Later, due to high cost of its production this note was discontinued in 1995, the Reserve Bank of India resumed printing it after 21 years in 2016.

In the reign of “British India” there has been 5 Signatories who have signed on a One Rupee Note.

The One Rupee note of Republic of India has in total 21 Signatories till date signing on the 1 rupee note across various time intervals

The  new Star series of One Rupee Note was introduced in 2015.

The new Telescopic Series of One Rupee Note was introduced in 2017.

Till date there has been 8 Signatories of Indo & French and Portuguese territories who have signed on a 1 Rupee note

Till date there has been 10 Signatories of Indian Princely States (Hyderabad and Jammu & Kashmir) who have signed on a 1 Rupee note

Balraj Syal rocks Entertainment Ki Raat

Actor & Writer Balraj Syal is seen doing his antics in the Color’s reality show ‘Entertainment Ki Raat’. The show is a battle between various stars from the entertainment industry. The current cast includes television actor Ravi Dubey, actress Dipika Kakar, Karan Wahi, Asha Negi, Aditya Narayan, Mubeen Saudagar, RJ Malishka and Roadies fame Raghu.  

Only a few people know that Balraj who came into the television limelight after being the runner-up of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ and participating in ‘Comedy Circus’; is a fine writer as well.  He has written dialogues for popular Punjabi films such as Saadey CM Sahab, Kaptaan and Ambarsarya starring Diljeet Dosanjh. VIKRAM’S DAREDEVIL STUNT ON EK DEEWAANA THA

The handsome hunk Vikram Singh Chauhan, is known to be a method actor who always puts his best foot forward and does not deter from going the extra mile to deliver a spectacular performance. In the upcoming episode of Ek Deewaana Tha, an action sequence that involves Vikram attempting a suicide jump from the rooftop of a building will be shown. Vikram being an action junkie loves performing his own stunts and took up the challenging feat earnestly!

When contacted Vikram said, “I love performing my own stunts for the shows that I act in. Even for Ek Deewaana Tha, I have been a part of multiple stunts which involved car chases, dangling from the roof of a building and more. In the recent stunt, I had to attempt a suicide jump from the rooftop of a building which was executed flawlessly owing to the technical support of the entire crew and stunt experts. However, when it comes to certain stunts that are too dangerous, I prefer the stunt experts to execute them as they are the best in their field and ensure safety at all levels.” 

In the upcoming track of Ek Deewaana Tha, Vyom drags Sharanaya portrayed by Donal Bisht to their college where he tries to make her remember about their memories and the time spent together. Sharanya wants to leave Vyom as she feels her presence is a threat to his life wherein Vyom decides to jump from the college terrace and end his life.

A blast from the past- tell us how you got into the television world? 

> I always wanted to do acting despite of being in the family of wrestlers and I am also used to being a wrestler. So, at the peak of my student's life, I decided to come to Mumbai and try my luck and with the grace of God, my parents were also in supportive of my decision. And entered the world of acting.  I have never studied at any acting institutions.  I directly started giving audition for serials and other daily soaps. Fortunately, I got one, that is Draupadi and from then I am into the world of television. 

How did you feel facing the camera for the first time?

> I was excited than nervous because this is what I always wanted to do. 

What’s the one skill, wish you have developed earlier?

> Acrobatics and gymnastics. I want to be an action hero rather than just doing romantic stuff. I want to portray all the emotions that a human goes through on the screen. 

How did you cope up with the very tough and demanding schedule of television?

> It was not difficult for me to cope up with it because I belong to a disciplined family. So waking up early for an early morning shoot is easy for me. And to be honest, I only do the kind of work which doesn't affect my self-esteem.

How is to be constantly judged when you make an appearance?

> Neither do I judge anyone nor do I like to be judged. Because I wear my heart on my sleeves and say whatever I feel like. I don't spend too much time on my looks and appearance.

You are immensely popular among girls because of your good looks what do you have to say about that?

> I can just say I am very thankful to them for their love and appreciation. I Am really honoured by their gesture. I am nothing without them. I believe fans make us and not the other way around. 

What do you think they like about you? How conscious are you about your good looks?

> I am not conscious about my looks. I am a simple person and I dress up simply. I don't do anything special to look good. I believe beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. So those who see the beauty in me, are beautiful themselves. 

How important is it for an actor to look good on screen?

> It is really important for an actor to look good onscreen because an actor is the one who influences and becomes the trendsetter. People usually follow them, so it's very important to give your best no matter what. You have to be perfect on your path. 

How much importance do you give to your grooming?

> Grooming is important in every single field. Because every metal looks beautiful after the smith has given shape it to it. 

An actor has the power to influence the crowd, your comments?

> Yes, obviously an actor is someone who influences. He is judged by everyone. People follow them like a lot, be it there dressing sense,  there dialogue delivery,  there way of conversation or  there attitude.  An actor should be a powerful enough to influence so that people can be directed in the positive and right direction. 

The most interesting aspect of being an actor.

> We have to face hardships to meet any success in life. But my never- give- up attitude makes me feel even more energetic to face the problems. My parents' blessings are always with me. So no matter what, I know that one day I will achieve the height of success. I believe in one thing, hard times can snatch everything from me but not my destiny

How difficult or easy is it to manage your career and dreams?

> You can live every character. You can have knowledge of every field. If you are playing a role of an inspector you have to study everything about them and then only you can give the perfect shot. I love my job because I want to play every interesting and powerful character. 

What is the hardest thing you have ever done in your entire life?

> To stay away from my family for work after my father's death is the hardest thing I can ever think off. 

How has the glamour industry changed you as a person?

> Change with fashion is equally important like changing with time. For a successful person, it is really important to constantly change their looks, attires and characters. People should not get bored by them. A person should always go beyond their comfort zone. I believe change is the only constant thing which we have to carry forward. 

Fashion gives you an opportunity to be what you want to be. What’s

your take on it?

> Not only the big change but small changes also lead to a big difference in personality. I started working on my dressing sense, on appearance and on my vocabulary. I was an introvert person and now I have started mixing up with people which is the most difficult task as far I am I concerned.

> I just want to give all the love and blessings to my fans. I am very thankful to them because they have made me what I am today. No matter what I'll be honoured by them. Be like a fighter and rise like a warrior. Stay blessed and happy. Be A fighter

Kapil Sharma is back with another episode of Oye Firangi

Kapil Sharma is back with another episode to promote his upcoming film Firangi on Sony Entertainment Television’s special episode Oye Firangi. This time Kapil Sharma brought in the guests associated with the movie through music. It was a musicial episode which is worth a watch.

The cast included Daler Mehndi, Jatinder Shah, Neha Bhasin, Rajiv Dhingra and Mamta Sharma who entertained the audience with their beautiful performances. Jyoti Noorah from ‘Noorah Sisters’ also gave a special performance. Kiku Sharda at its best entertained the audience with his punch lines whereas Rajiv Thakur and Chandan Prabhakar made sure everyone laugh their hearts out with their jokes.

Legendary actress Rekha graces the set of Super Dancer Chapter 2

Rekha who is known for her hundreds of hit films graced the set of Sony Entertainment Television’s biggest kids reality dance show Super Dancer Chapter 2. The whole set was filled up with positive and strong vibes with the actress present on the set. The evergreen actress shook a leg with the contestants on the song Rang Barse splashing colours and making the judges go la la all over it. Rekha makes Akash Mitra’s dream come true to when he met Jaadu on the set. Rekha who was so generous and kind hearted spent most of the time with the kids on the set. All the kids and the judges with the hosts were lucky enough to learn a few ‘adaaein’ from the actress which is worth to watch out for.

Age is just a number for me: Tinaa Dattaa

Actor Tinaa Dattaa turned a year older recently and says that her work is the biggest gift that she has got on her birthday. The actor, who is part of Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Karamphaldata Shani, is enjoying being part of the show.  

“I think the biggest thing that has happened this birthday is me getting to be part of Shani. I have been getting an amazing response for the same,” she says. 

The actor loves being part of the show. “Working in Shani is fun. Our creatives Siddharth and Smruti are amazing. And our director Rana sir makes it all the more fun for all of us. When you are working with Rana sir, you don’t feel like you are working, it’s so much fun!” she says. 

Ask which she has been her most memorable birthday so far, and she says, “My most memorable birthdays were those that I celebrated during was my childhood. At the time, I used to celebrate with my school friends... there was so much innocence and purity in whatever we did then,” she says. 

Does she agree that age is just a number? “Yes, for me, age has always been just a number. How old you are depends on how you behave. Work is a priority for me and I love working on all my birthdays,” she says. 

Talking about future plans, the actor adds, “I want to do more shows and entertain people more. That is all what I wish for. I am a workaholic and I love to work.”

Ankit Bathla looks dashing at Delhi event

Ankit Bathla has always been someone who his fans have looked up to, not only for his spectacular acting abilities, but his dashing looks as well. The actor, who was recently in Delhi, looked his best at an event there. 

Ankit was judging a talent hunt called Sensation Season 2, along with dancer Prince. It is safe to say that Ankit looked stunning in a Bharat Reshma outfit. 

“I loved what I wore at the talent hunt. It was comfortable as well as looked amazing. For me, comfort is a very important factor while deciding what to wear. I know I will only look my best if I am comfortable,” he says. 

The actor is also a fitness freak and says that this is important for an actor. “You have a lot of people looking up to you, it’s important to look your best and be fit and healthy. This will inspire your fans also to do the same,” he says

'Tantra'- Vikram Bhatt's new web series for his channel VB on the Web

Ace Director and Producer Vikram Bhatt is all set to produce a new web-series for his channel VB on the Web. VB On The Web is Indian filmmaker Vikram Bhatt's official web channel. The channel hosts filmmaker's original content in the form of web series across different genres. The previous series from this platform like Twisted, Maaya and others have been well appreciated by the audience. 

The team is coming up with a new web series titled 'Tantra' starring Aditi Arya, VidurAnand, Salina Prakash, KarimHajee and Sandeep Bharadwaj playing the central characters in this web-weekender. 'Tantra' is a unique battle of a family feud and corporate politics played on the battleground of black magic. A game that is already this dirty is sullied further when everything is put on the board, murder, death, betrayal, deceit and above all trust. 

This web series will be produced under Vikram Bhatt's own banner LoneRanger Productions Pvt. Ltd., and the digital project will have an ensemble cast comprising of certain veteran actors. The story of this web series is written by Vikram Bhatt himself and directed by SidhantSachdev.

The Punjab connect between Angad Bedi and Diljit Dosanjh

Internet was flooding over with fitness images of Diljit and workout videos of Angad Bedi and now recently Diljit posted a fun video of both of them having a gala time together on social media. In the video, we can see Angad imitating local sports commentators and Diljit recording the same. Also on the post Angad commented how their jodi should be like Jai and Veeru from Sholay. Preetisheel Singh impresses with The House Next Door; awaits Padmavati

National award-winning make-up and prosthetics artiste Preetisheel Singh has once again managed to receive rave reviews for her art with the Siddharth-Andrea Jeremiah horror film The House Next Door, making the ghost flick extremely believable and spooky. Based on a true story, director Milind Rau’s film is made in three languages. Apart from The House Next Door in Hindi, it has released as Aval (She) in Tamil and Gruham (Home) in Telugu, garnering acclaim for all three versions. "The film makes audience cower in their seats biting their nails while trying to look away from the screens," reports The Indian Express. Times of India calls it a "well-executed" and "gripping" film, while First Post says, the "ghost flick is terror-ific". Preetisheel uses her prosthetic make-up for ghostlike apparitions says Gulf News, "which are way removed from the regular pan-caked powder faces of other Indian films." Scroll calls the film a "very well crafted and a commendable addition to the genre" and Bollywood Life writes, the "film manages to scare the daylights out of you." Apart from critical acclaim, actor Siddharth is ga-ga over Preetisheel's work. "Her design framework has brought a sense of professionalism to the whole experience of prosthetic make-up," says the actor. It can be noted that a few months ago Preetisheel received accolades for the look she designed for Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the Sridevi-starrer Mom. She now awaits the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati where she has designed the looks for Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor as well as Deepika Padukone.

Actress Daisey Ridley on being a female hero for Star Wars

Actress Daisey Ridely who charmed audiences in her kickass stellar role as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is all set to revisit her character in December's Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The actress has slowly risen to be an empowered icon and will be seen performing her own stunts and fighting the dark side in the latest Star Wars film.

When asked about the importance of being a female hero Daisey opens up and says, "I like that I never questioned being a heroic woman in a film, and that’s thanks to my upbringing. My mom’s always worked; the women I grew up around always worked and were inspirational. Some have family, some don’t. People just living their lives. So, it’s weird because the way people reacted made me question more than I did. It’s a great role but not just because she’s a woman. That’s how simple it was to me. But others were like this is a big deal, clearly. But it’s exciting to be a part of that. And I’m like, let’s continue. This is how it should be."

In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

Disney-Pixar’s newly released Oscar offering COCO has been getting exceptional reviews globally and Indian critics have been calling it one of the best films of the year! 

B-town celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Hritik Roshan and Manav Kaul along with their families went to watch the movie in theatres after hearing such positive reviews. Leaving with a smile on their face, they all seemed to have loved the story of Miguel. 

Coco is poised to be the next Oscar Hopeful from the Disney-Pixar stable of Academy Award-winning movies. 

After last year’s stunning successes Inside Out and Finding Dory, “Coco,” promises to be Disney- Pixar’s most culturally-diverse human family drama yet. It’s about 12-year-old Miguel (Gonzalez), an aspiring guitarist from a rural Mexican town, whose family of shoemakers has banned music. Miguel gets transported to the Land of the Dead in Día de los Muertos, where he tries to reclaim his family heritage and return home with the help of trickster skeleton Hector (Bernal). 

COCO is currently in theaters.  

Richa Chadha's modern-day adaptation of Devdas to release soon

Having established herself as a bankable Bollywood star, actor Richa Chadha has been exploring different mediums of filmmaking. Her performance in the video on demand show Inside Edge was highly appreciated. Now we will see her next in another contemporary adaptation of the Saratchandra Chattopadhhyay's classic 'Devdas'.

Director Sudhir Mishra's upcoming film Daasdev follows a path contrary to the plot of the classic novel but is a fiercely political film that talks about the protagonist's addiction to power. The film features Richa Chadha as Paro, Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandramukhi and Rahul Bhat as Daasdev.

Richa has shown HER incredible acting capabilities with her versatile roles through different characters and it is an exciting time coming ahead for her with three back to back releases- Fukrey, DaasDev and LOVE Sonia. When asked Richa about the same she said, " I am excited that the film is releasing soon. It’s an interesting adaptation. I loved working with Sudhir Mishra. He has mentored so many filmmakers and directed some films that made me want to be an actor when I was growing up. “

Ratan gets trapped!

The storyline of Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya has been getting more intense with several twists and death traps being laid to kill Ratan Sa.

In the forthcoming episode, Ratan Sa (Rohit Suchanti) will be shown escaping the protection net of Diya and loitering around with his friends around the restricted areas of the Kesar Mahal palace. Soon they land up in a torture room where a lot of equipment have been inactive for several years. But strangely as Ratan will begin exploring the place, the equipment will suddenly get activated leading to him getting trapped.

Interestingly all the equipment used for this sequence are real and complete precautions were taken by the crew to ensure a safe use. But what remains to be seen how Ratan will find his way of this torture room? Will Diya be able to find out about Ratan’s whereabouts and come to his rescue once again or will the killers succeed this time around?

Salman Khan stands up for Shilpa Shinde

A lot of things are said in the Bigg Boss house, some of which are cruel and disrespectful. Body shaming is one such topic, which is often done in the house. Recently, Priyank Sharma was caught on camera saying disrespectful things about Shilpa Shinde and Arshi Khan. He called them fat and also spoke about how they didn't deserve to be the captain because of their weight.

However, superstar Salman Khan made it a point to pull up Priyank and reprimanded him on saying such things. He also added that he has always seen Shilpa working in the kitchen and how weight has nothing to do with her performance.
